I'm Associate Dean of Faculty and Professor of Psychology at Bates College. My research focuses on how children process and understand race, as well as the effective use of children's literature to enhance intercultural relationships and self-understanding during childhood. My own identity as a biracial woman deeply informs my work, which is expressed through the Diverse BookFinder website.
