The Community Language Program (CLP) is a free toolkit from Rutgers Graduate School of Education that helps libraries and community organizations host informal conversation groups for adult newcomers. The program creates welcoming spaces where people practice everyday English, share experiences, and build confidence through real conversations. CLP includes ready-to-use session plans, facilitator guidance, and training resources. Sessions are flexible, can be held in person or online, and are designed to adapt to the interests and needs of the community.
